Pregnancy or Menopause

I have had early periods for 2 months in a row. My cycle is usually beginning on the 21st of the month. Last month I began my period on 08/18/2016 and I am cramping & spotting today, which is 09/09/2016. My tubes have been tied for 16 years….could I be experiencing menopause or pregnancy? Home pregnancy test has never worked for me & with my other children (who are 16 & 19 yrs. old) I never had pregnancy symptoms before, so please any information will help. I don’t want to go to the doctor because it is too costly.
Lately I have been feeling like I have vertigo, some heartburn, and time frames of just wanting to sleep. I just turned 39 in June also.
