Hey ladies, most of you know my story but for those of you who don’t I will give you a quick summary, I got pregnant at 19 and the father wanted me to get an abortion. I was going to then ultimately decided not to. We split up and ended up back together when my daughter was 3 weeks old. We had a really unhealthy relationship and we broke up a year later. I have not heard from him since she was about 3 years old and she just turned 7 a couple weeks ago. Well out of the blue I got a phone call today from him explaining that his dads girlfriends daughter who is very young is pregnant. He told me that he thought I would be a good person for her to talk to if I was willing. I was in absolute shock, I had not heard from him in years and then pow, he wants me to help give advice to a family member about crisis pregnancy!! We had a good talk about our daughter and I told him all about how she has grown up and her favorite things to do, he wants to slowly introduce himself back into her life now and it all came through a crisis pregnancy that he is witnessing in his house! If you are in a situation similar to where I was at with him 7 years ago just know that he will eventually turn around, maybe your crisis pregnancy will wake someone else up to be a father again, there are so many things that can come from the phone call this morning but above all I know I did the right thing in keeping my daughter…he now sees that too and knew where to come for advice for someone else who is now in that same place of fear and crisis!!

Thanks for the encouragement!! Meg

June 15, 2009 at 9:51 pm #25323AnonymousThat’s the best news you could hope for! 🙂 I hope he really does change for his daughter… she really does deserve it. I’ll be praying for things to go good! Of course there will be challenges along the way, but the best of luck to you!
