I am seventeen and I just recently found out I was pregnant. I am due around August. And as young as I am; I’m excited. Is that wrong, everyone is acting like I should be scared or that my life is ruined. But I got a good man and I really do think everything is going to be ALRIGHT. But should I actually be scared and worrying my life is ruined??

Hi girl, congrats on the pregnancy 🙂 I think it’s I great that you’re standing up and taking responsibility for your actions! Teen pregnancy has always been a taboo and quite a lot of people still think you should be ashamed of it. Truth is, the only shameful thing is igoring the consequences of your actions.
It sounds like you have a wonderful, supportive bf and that makes a big differance. You don’t have to be scared or worried, most young mothers finish school and get a higher education BECAUSE they have a baby and want to make a better life for them.
Sure, people might give you odd looks, but who cares?! You can’t always please everyone, all that matters is the love and support of your bf and parents.
Good luck and keep posting. I hope you have a happy and healthy pregnancy.

No you shouldn’t feel bad hun, I am 16 and I am also very excited. People act like anyone under 20 should look upon pregnancy as this horrile demeaning thing, when really it is the most beautiful thing a person can do. it makes me so happy that you are enjoying and making the best of your pregnancy:) You are an inspiration for all girls to Stand Up and not be ashamed. Just make sure to take your prenatals and everything will be fine:) Take care xox

Hi! There is no reason that you shouldn’t be excited. I had my son when I was 16 and if I didn’t have him, I would be in such a worse place in my life. I wouldn’t be finishing school and I wouldn’t be taking responsibilities for my bi-polar disorder. I’m actually pregnant with baby #2 who is also due in August. I’ll be 18 when peanut is born and I couldn’t be more excited. I have a loving boyfriend who is a great daddy and although some plans have changed, I’m still going to college. I will be waiting until my boyfriend is through college, but that’s okay with me. Don’t listen to what anyone else says about your pregnancy. As long as you and your boyfriend are happy, that’s all that matters. Good luck! If you ever wanna talk, just sign my guestbook. It would be nice to have a pregnancy buddy. 🙂
