Hey, i just have a couple of questions for moms who have premmies. my daughter was born at 2 pounds 2 ounces. she is a healthy 9 month old but she is still pretty small (13pounds 5ounces). i was just wondering if it just takes a little longer for premmies to grow or am i doing somthing wrong?and also did it take your premmies longer to reach milestones like sitting on thier own and crawling?

My baby sister, she’s 3, she was VERY slow at doing all the normal baby things, she still doesn’t talk like a normal human, but she’s getting closer! She still isn’t potty trained either. She was 4 pounds 6 oz at birth, had NO complications but had to be under the billy reuben light for a little while. She also has to have surgery, the flap over one of the vessels in her heart hasn’t closed, because she was born premature. All in all, she fared well.

My son was born at 33 weeks, and he weighed 4 8. with premmies they have two ages, their actual age and their corrective age. their actual age is the day they were born. their corrective age is their due date. So sense my son was almost two months early i have to subtract 7 weeks from his actual. Right now he his almost five months but developmentally he’s three months. makes sense?
