Im 27 weeks pregnant. About a week ago, I woke up in the middle of the nihgt from severe pain. I thought It might have been contractions. It hurt so bad I started to vomit and then got diareha. My leg started to shake from the pain too. I normally get Braxton Hicks contractions, but what I experienced was worse. The next day, I was fine. Ever since then Ive been getting cramps like no other. anyone have any advice? I heard that some ppl will get contractions a month before labor.
Also, the other day I notice this stringy jelly looking discharged. I had some in my underwear and some was attached to my vagina. it was really googy and it was clear and yellow. any ideas?

My first question would be about the stuff that came out. Was it the consistency of slug slime/rubber cement? If so then that could have been your mucous plug. If it was just thick or gooey then it could have just been regular old discharge. I am 28 weeks and on my third pregnancy and there are times that I wake up in the middle of the night in horrid pain. your body is going through drastic change and your muscles and ligaments are constantly trying to keep up, after laying in bed sleeping for several hours if you move just the wrong way at the wrong time it can pull or stretch tender areas that need rest. Also if the baby happens to kick the wrong place or you are paying in a funny position then that can contribute, I wake up with sore spots all over my tummy every day. Also the groin pain can cause me to almost fall over if I stand up too suddenly and my leg will shake like you described. It is important that you talk with your doctor though. I am not one and what happens to my body may not be the same as what happens to yours. I lost my mucous plug 4 weeks before I had my son, some people lose it just hours before they go into labor, you need to talk to your doctor to make sure that it is not what that discharge was…also sometimes it is possible to just lose a chink of it and it will restore itself and be fine till you are full term, for now though on the off chance that you lost your plug don’t take any baths or soak in a tub, you do not want infection in there and if the plug is gone the protection from the outside world is gone….Make an appointment with your doctor and let us know what happens…Love Meg

27wks is early to lose your plug so keep an eye on any leaking fluids. Get a checkup too.
