But he wants to abort our baby because of money issues e.t.c, but i cant help but feel that i want to keep it to some extent even though it is a life long commitment. He wants me to get rid of it, hes not helping atall, i havent even spoken to him in a week(i was aspose to have my abortion on tuesday but got it put forward to this monday) so as far as he knows its gone. but he said he cannot be there for me because of his job e.t.c hes also 17.but i dont think i can go through the phyical and emotional pain that i will go through without him. should i go though with an abortion on my own, should i tell my parents? his parents know. and now hate me and also want me to get rid of it. someone please help i have no-one.

        Hey!
My name is Rachel and I help Becky with the website. I am 19 years old and I have a 2 year old daughter, and I know just how it feels to be a scared and pregnant teenager. You feel like everything you’ve ever known and dreamed of has been taken away and you feel almost desperate to just make it all disappear. If I said that I never considered abortion I would be wrong. I always thought I was against it, but I really didn’t realize what it was all about until I became a mother and stood up for both of us.
I encourage you SO much to NOT go through with the abortion. Stand Up for your unborn child! Stand Up for yourself and recognize that there’s probably a reason you’re having doubts… is this really a decision you can live with for the rest of your life?
I won’t ever tell people that being a young single mom is easy, because it’s sure not. I work, go to college full time, and have a daughter. I have four living grandparents and two of them disowned me and won’t speak to me, and I’ve gotten more than a few lectures and dirty looks. But, in her two and a half years, there hasn’t been a day yet that I’ve regretted my decisions for her. None of that has ever come close to measuring up to the joy that she brings me every day.

If you read this, I would love to talk to you more, email me anytime, for anything at Rachel@StandUpGirl.com

        Love,
        Rachel

Please don’t allow your boyfriend’s inability to commit alter you as a person. I too was pregnant young and my ex-butthead wanted me to abort. He swore that I would never amount to anything and would be trash if I kept the baby. I am now 28, a special education teacher, have a master’s degree in Special Education, married to a wonderful man, and we are expecting boy #3 in July. Yes, it is hard to be a single mom, but its harder to deal with guilt the rest of your life. You can do this!! You will not be alone. Feel free to e-mail me if you need help. Also, enroll NOW for WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) to get free groceries and to help with the cost of formula later. You will be okay and so will your child.

          With love and support,
          Jen

Girl, don’t listen to your boyfriend, and if i was you i’ll talk to my parents about it. You should make the decision that is best for you! Think about your baby and how you are going to be a mom and everything you have to look foward to! As in money issues, get a job and save money and im pretty sure that if you talk to your parents, they would help too!!
