About a year ago i had two tumors one on each of my ovaries and i had to have one removed so now i have one ovarie. I would like to know the chances of being pregnant, because i might be, i have had many symptoms of pregnancy for about two-three weeks, i am taking a test 4 days before i expect my period, but even if i am not i still would like to know what my chances are, i just graduated hugh school and am about to turn 18… 🙁 please help me to be informed….
as far as i know, as long as you have one egg-producing and releasing ovary you can still get pregnant, just as long as that ovary releases an egg that month. [in a female with two ovaries one of the ovaries releases an egg or several eggs in a given month. so it’s not necessarily going to be the same ovary releasing eggs each month.]
i’d definitely recommend taking a test, but wait about a week after your period is supposed to start so you can receive more accurate results. 🙂
I have wondered the same thing quite a bit. I had a 3inch cyst removed in 2001. It had also killed the cells in about half the overie so they removed the dead half. I am left with 1 1/2 overies. I asked the doc and he said that I shouldn’t have alot of problem getting pregnant as long as the other overie takes over some of the work load. it does the same thing as say your missing half a lung the other half takes over the work load it takes time for it to do it but normally it works out fine. My best advice to you is that you take the test. I hope everything will work out for the best. Good luck.
