If my last period was July3,2005 how far along would I be any help?
Have you taken a pregnancy test yet? According to what I have read, if you have an average cycle you would probably be almost 12 weeks pregnant (10 weeks post-conception) and would be due in early to mid April 2006. If you think you might be pregnant you should take a test or see your doctor. If you are pregnant you should see your doctor for pre-natal care and start taking prenatal vitamins. Good luck.

how can u calculate that? i never understood that. cuz its not like u can just say 9 months later… and its all based on when she actually would have gotten preg. not all girls ovulate on day 14 and some girls get pregnant at the beginning or very end of their cycle…

You’re right. It is very hard to pinpoint an exact due date due to a number of factors. Most babies are not born on their actual due date, but the due date gives a good estimate of when to expect delivery. Most babies are born within two weeks before or two weeks after their estimated due date. This is a pretty wide range. Most doctors count approximately 40 weeks from the first day of the last period. In most cases conception occurs roughly two weeks later. It is kind of confusing.

Okay to calculate your due date:
1. Figure out the FIRST day of your last menstrual period
2. Add seven days to that date (for example: My last period was June 3 so this would give the date June 10.)
3. Add 9 months to this date (So this would be March 10)This is only approximate as I actually gave birth March 14 but only 5% of girls actually have the baby on their due date.
To figure out your gestational age (how far along you are):
1. Figure out the FIRST day of your last menstrual period
2. Look at which day of the week it was on (ex: Monday)
3. So if it was on a Monday then every Monday after that you would add 1 week to your gestational age. So two weeks after your period started you’d be two weeks pregnant. The doctors use this to formula to make a 40 week pregnancy calendar even though this means you were technically pregnant for TWO WEEKS before you conceived. An actual pregnancy is 38 weeks. If you subtract two weeks from your gestational age as calculated above you have your FERTILIZATION AGE which is the actual amount of time you’ve been pregnant.Please remember that this is not exact and that is why ultrasound dating is helpful also.
