Hi all
I’m Sarah. I’m 17 now and I found out just two weeks ago that I’m pregnant. My family doesn’t know it yet, but I’m so scared to tell them! There is only one other girl who knows. My best friend. She was with me when I took the test… I’m about 8 weeks along! I’m so scared… What if they kick me out? I’m desperate, I really am.. I need help so bad…
xx
December 23, 2008 at 3:08 am #23560AnonymousHi Sarah,
Welcome to the site. I know that finding out that you are pregnant is really really scary, but take a deep breath and try not to freak out.
Now, about your parents. For the most part parents get upset and yell a lot and threaten that if you don’t get an abortion they will throw you out or whatever, but then after a little while they calm down and things just get better from there.
But even if they did kick you out, it is worth even going through that if you can give life to your baby. Trust me, it won’t seem like it at first, but when you feel it moving in your belly, when you hear it’s first cry, when you finally get to hold it, you will know that it was worth everything you had to go through.
But that’s a little ways into the future. Right now just focus on the next step, ok?
keep us updated!
Hugs!December 24, 2008 at 1:05 am #23572insubordinateximpx09Hi hun,
I know telling the parents will be hard, but you will feel so much better once they know. If you are struggling with the options you have, think about it. No one can tell you what you have to do with YOUR baby. It’s your decision. If you ever need anyone to talk to, I’m here. I had my son at 16 and will be 18 when my next baby is born. (I’m 7 weeks along) Good luck with everything. Keep us updated.
December 24, 2008 at 1:59 pm #23577tay8900I know what its like. I was so scared they would hate me when I found out. I thought for sure I was out of the house. But they were more suprised and willing to support me whatever I did. They will love you no matter what you do. Its hard to come out and say it but you can’t keep this a secret forever. Everything will be fine.
December 27, 2008 at 2:30 am #23589AnonymousI remember when I was there… and I’m now 37 weeks and so ready for my little man. I’m younger than you, only 15. My family is so excited for him to be coming and his nursery is all fixed up and ready for his homecoming.
It really is so much better once it’s out in the open… and sure, they’re angry at first, disapointed, etc. but they get over it. They get happy because this is their grandchild!
January 8, 2009 at 2:08 am #23700liquidsunshine13ok i can honestly say i know how you feel! seriously..im 17 and found out i was pregnant just 2 months after i started college..im now 4 months gone..I was dreading telling my parents but the thought of doing it was actually WORSE than doing it. I dont know what your situation in life is or what your relationship is like with your parents, but from most people i have talked to since have said their parents were completely understanding and once they got their heads round it were entirely supportive. My parents were the same. My mum is now even lookin in baby name books and offering to buy my babys crib. If you decide to keep your baby you will see how unconditionally you can love your baby..and thats probably how your parents feel how about you..they might be angry at first because you are their baby and they want to protect you. They WILL come round, and they wont stop loving you. Its something you have to do otherwise you’ll always be on tenterhooks. Just tell them straight out and remember its YOUR life its affecting so what you do is entirely up to you.. i dont know if i’ve helped but try not to worry too much…you’ll feel alot better once they know…xxxxx

January 17, 2009 at 4:21 am #23825nikki101Hiya huni 🙂 telling your parents will be a hard thing to do, but at the end of the day its your baby and so your choice! And if they kick you out then thats totally their loss!!!
But the majority of parents come round, they may be disappointed but you just have 2 explain that a baby isnt the end of your life, you can still have an education and a good job!!
It will make you a stronger person, after all having kids is what life is all about! And its the most amazing experience you’ll ever go through!
Good luck sweetie 🙂 xxxFebruary 3, 2009 at 3:54 am #23971Little_ButterflyHi y’all
Thank you for your comments, for your support. I told my parents and they were SO mad! My mom started to cry and she kept telling she knew I was trouble from the moment I was born… That broke my heart… I never felt this alone in my life! So that night I went to my best friend and stayed there for two or three days, then my grandma called me and asked me if I wanted to stay with her ’till my parents come around… So here I am. STILL with my grandma and no calls or anything so far. Tommorow I’ll go back, and try to talk to them. Hopefully they’ll understand, at least a bit…
February 3, 2009 at 8:48 pm #23986AnonymousHave you told your parents yet?
