I was a single mom for 4 1/2 years, raising 2 kids on my own, my circumstances have changed and I am now married with 4 kids in our family! I decided to check into my local resources to see what is available these days in terms of help and I was so excited to learn that my local pregnancy center has a program to help women with FREE diapers! It is called Learning Incentives For Earning!
Here is how it works…You show up for your weekly visit, a nice lady will sit down with you and help you choose videos and short pamphlets/booklets to read through/watch that teach things about parenting, pregnancy, relationships etc…All helpful things when you are expecting a baby! Anyways you earn “Baby Bucks” for your attendance and doing worksheets etc then you can use those “Baby Bucks” for baby clothes, maternity clothes, baby furniture etc and also for Diapers…You can get up to 3 dozen per week….Check this out, 40 weeks of pregnancy means you have the opportunity to get 1440 FREE Diapers before you give birth…that is AWESOME! Then when you have the baby they give you a HUGE gift bag full of more diapers, clothing and tons of baby items!
You can stay in their program until your child is 3, I did not calculate the figure on those diapers…hahaha…Basically the way it works out is that if you do it just right, go to your weekly class (takes about an hour to an hour and a half) then you can supply yourself with FREE diapers, 6 a day for the first 3 years of your childs life…that is a HUGE help….I really wish I had known about this resource when I still really needed the help so I thought I would share it with all of you expecting mommas!

When I was pregnant with my first we had a program similar to this. Being 16 I did not have money to buy everything baby needed and this was an amazing program. They not only did free diapers, you could save your “baby bucks” and buy car seats, cribs, clothing, bouncer, everything u could possibly need for baby! To this day I still have my crib. I saved all my baby bucks for 9 months and got an amazing wood crib 🙂 4 years later and my third child is passed out asleep in it as I write this 🙂
