I have recently found out I was 18 weeks pregnant, (now 19) after taking a home pregnacy test and having it confirmed from another test at the walk in clinic. i am in a long term 3 year relationship, however as i have been on the contreceptive pill it came as an utter stock to us. which is why i didnt suspect sooner, originally thought i was around 8-12 weeks at most. however scan confirmed differently and it has made me feel differently, i have booked in today for my procedure which is the over 9weeks medical abortion treatment. however i am so so scared about it, i know im not in a financial or good sitution to raise a child at all as i want so much from my life and am only 20 years old. however its affected me more than i ever thought it would, i am so scared about the procedure and hoping i am doing the right thing.

      many thanks

        Hey girl,
Sorry to hear about your situation. It sounds like you really don’t want an abortion but you’re doing this for financial reasons. You know, abortion is a permanent decision that you can’t change your mind about. If you scared about going through with this, there is nothing wrong with calling and canceling your appointment because you need more time to think about this.

In the meantime, let me refer you to a pregnancy resource center that can help you with your financial situation. They can help you with all of your needs and your baby’s needs during and after your pregnancy. Their help with GREATLY reduce your financial burden. To find a pregnancy resource center, go to: http://www.optionline.org/get-help/ and put in your zip code. Call the center that is closest to you and tell them your situation. They’ll know how to help you.

QueenB makes an excellent point. Also, have you considered doing a private adoption? You can pick a family to give your baby to, and that way you know they are taken care of. You could even have an open adoption so that you can see your baby and get updates as he/she grows up, and that way you can be involved in thier life, but you know that theyar ein a stable household and financially supported. That’s another thing to think about as well. There are many older couples unable to have children, and most will pay medical expenses and etc so you don’t have to worry about that. I wish you the best of luck, what ever you decide. 🙂

There are a lot of people out there who want to adopt babies. Have you ever thought about that, instead of killing a life. Sorry to put it so bluntly. My husband and I recently found out we can’t have any more children….there’s alot of people out there who would love to care for your baby and give it a good home and life.

i agree with Laremar, bluntly stated or not. The least you can do is take care of the child for the 9 months its inside you.
