I am turning 20 years old in 2 weeks and I am a university student currently in my 3rd year. For the last while I have been struggling with what I really want to do in my life and what path I want to take and have just been stuck in general. A few days ago me and my boyfriend found out that I am pregnant. We went to get an ultrasound today and found out I am about 6 weeks. My mom and I have always been close and she’s always been supportive but she thinks the only way to go through with this is to choose abortion. I personally do not want to do this and neither does my boyfriend. He is also in 3rd year university. Right now I am working as a server and make really good money but obviously I can’t do that for too much longer so will only be able to save for a little while longer now. He is working a part time job as well. I know that it is crazy to do this. Obviously it came at a very random time especially with where I am right now in my life but my whole entire body and heart is telling me not to get an abortion. I feel like I am fully capable it will just of course be hard, and much harder than I realize as well. Tomorrow, my mom and my boyfriends parents are all sitting down to discuss our decision and I’m so scared to tell them that we want to raise this baby since they all don’t think we are ready and do not agree with what we are choosing. I have nothing to really back up my decision so I don’t know what to say to them. If anyone can help me or give me advice or let me know if you went through this that would be so amazing. Thank you so much.

First congrats on the pregnancy! Its a great experience! I just wanted to let you know, although right now you feel you wont be able to take care of your baby or wont be able to provide there are places that can help you if you need help! I had my baby girl in high school and was able to finish my school and work as well. It was tough, but when i saw my baby girls wrinkly little face and pruny little hands I fell in love immediately and new i made the right decision! it was a priceless moment! there is no reason to kill a baby, you can bless a family with an open or closed adoption if you dont think you can do it. But My local pregnancy center helped me out a lot and was able to give me other places that could help out as well. Once i told my family i was keeping my baby and they could support my decision or not, they chose to support my decision and helped out when they could. So try explaining to them you dont want to abort your baby, its a human life with a beating heart almost with fingernails!:) a precious life you cant imagine your life without! π
Here are some good places that can get you on the right track to finding a pregnancy center near you!
