Since twins do not share the same placenta or amniotic sack, in theory it would be possible to lose one and not the other. The only way for sure is to go back to the doctor and insist on more testing. You could have remaining pregnancy tissue from the miscarried baby that could cause problems. Either way, you need to find out for sure.

My prayers to you for your loss. Let us know how things turn out.

I think you should stick to your guns. Try and ask the doctors if they can look again, maybe try and listen. Hope it all works out for the best!

sorry to heaar it hun. there could be a possibility but i dunno, im not a doctor. maybe go to your doctors and see what they say. how far along was you?? i lost my baby just over a month ago now and i still feel im pregnant, my hormone levels have gone down but i still feel pregnant and i have a bit of a belly which i never had before hand, so i dont know what to think but i think it would be best to go to a doctor and see what they say, you never know they might find a heartbeat and your mother in law could be right about the twins. here if you need a chat hun, :) xxx

on the beggining of last month i found out i was pregnant, a week after that my mother in law had a dream that i was having twins, which by the wat, her dreams have ALWAYS be right. but on the 13th of this month i started bleeding and cramping really bad so i went to the ER. they did an ultrasound, but couldnt see the baby, my hormone levels were really high, so they said i probably had a miscarriage. i went home, then back to the hospital on the 15, thats when she got out a big piece of tissue and said i hadjust passed the pregnancy.i didnt get to my first prenatal appointment, it was supposed to be on the 20th.
they didnt do a second ultrasond on the 15th. i still feel pregnant and have all of the symptoms, and i took a pregnancy test last night and this moring and they were both possitive. my mother in lw dreamt twins, a she has ALWAYS been right even about the sex of the baby. do ay of you think i could have miscarriade one baby but still be pregnant with the second twin? like i said, the were LOOKING for the baby, but didnt try to find a sound, i feel that if they had tried they would have probably hear something. something in my heart keeps telling me that i'm still pregnant, any one has any advise???? pls :( :( :( :(
